1. Minimum protection (MP)

Includes SLI coverage provided by third party insurance with liability to an estimated $1,000,000. No deductibles or charges of infringement.

The daily cost of this coverage is $ 19.99 per day.

The SLI is not mandatory, but in case of rejection the tenant will be responsible overall for damage caused to third parts (people, vehicles and property).

2. Basic Protection (BPP)

3. Protecting credit card Package (CCPP)

The CCPP includes personal assistance in case of accident or medical emergencies (PAE). If I accept the optional personal protective equipment (PAE), I would be protected from injury or accidental death up to the amount of aproximately $9.000 per event. When buying this coverage, you will protected for additional accesories that includes windshield, tires, glass and vandalism. Insurance company report and police report in case of vandalism will be required.

The daily cost of this coverage is $ 23.94 per day.

4. Standard protection package (SPP)

5. Package full protective (TTP)

6. Protection for accident and effects (PAE). Don’t worry about anything.

Take into account that in case of accident or drunk driver is excluded from the benefit of the insurance.

NOTE: Drivers with Costa Rica Licence can not decline insurance.

If coverage needs to be applied, the lessee must submit:

 

• Part of Qualitas (Insurance Company)
• Sketch or document raised by the insurer in the place of event
• Respective declaration to traffic court

Documents required for implementation of coverage for theft:

Any other damage whose value is smaller than the deductible is responsibility of the lessee. In case of theft the tenant must submit the following:

• The complaint set to the OIJ (Judicial Investigation Office) or to the competent authority in the area of the robbery
• Copy of ID or valid passport
• Copy of driver’s license up to date

NOTE: Any other damage that is considered negligence of the customer, for example, passing through a river, driving at sea, using the vehicle for racing or other similar activities; It is the only responsibility of the customer and is not covered by any coverage.

Yes, applies a fee of 13% of the total rental amount for the ATO Juan Santamaria Airport, Tambor and Quepos Airport and 14% for the office of Daniel Oduber Airport in Liberia.

The additional driver fee is $5.00 per day, per driver.

There is a charge of $ 10 for each contract extension in low season*. For High season**, the cost to the customer for contract extension will be depending of the rate.

*Low season is from January 7 to March 31, June, September, October.
**High season is from December 16 to January 6, Holy Week and July 15 to August 15

Under normal circumstances, if we have availability we can deliver and remove vehicles rented in your hotel. For hotels that are located near our offices, there is no additional charge for delivery or removal of vehicles.

 

Will be charged in respect of Drop Off when the vehicle is removed and returned in different seasons. The amount is subject to availability, distance and season.

The minimum age required to rent a vehicle is 25 years and the maximum age allowed is 75 years. The cost is $ 12 per day in both seasons.

No. No one, other than the person named on the card, can use that credit card for deposit. The cardholder must be present at the time to make and sign the rental agreement.

 

Any card that is used for rent and deposit must contain the information in relief.

The deposit credit card depends on the coverage that is purchased.

No. No vehicle may leave the borders of Costa Rica.

Yes. There is an additional charge. The amount of this fee varies depending on where and from where you are moving the vehicle.

After going through customs, you will find a representative of Budget in our counter, who will help you with your luggage and escort you to the outside of the airport where you can take our complimentary shuttle. The shuttle will take you to our office which is less than 1 km from the airport terminal where you can withdraw and return the rented vehicle.

Yes, if you agree. We recommend the customer to take the Minimum Protection Package (SLI) as damages to third parts are not covered by insurance of these cards.

NONE of the three options is accepted, neither in cash, traveler’s checks or debit cards.

You cannot drive in rivers, beaches, estuaries or drive it as opposed to the laws and regulations of transit, or streets, land or roads that cause damages because in all these cases the lessee will need to cover on his own all damages caused to the vehicle and the company even if he had accepted some coverage for rental vehicle, because in the circumstances described hedges have no effect. The use of the vehicle in these conditions authorizes Centriz to terminate this article without prejudice to charge via the corresponding damages.

No. If a client is shown that smoke inside any of our vehicles, will be charged a $250 amount.

Yes. When driving on Highway 27 you can use the lane Quick Pass without stopping.

The Quick Pass has a cost of $12 per day so the client can use the times needed.

Yes, only for the amount of rent, does not apply to the deposit. No refunds.

According to the new traffic law of Costa Rica. In case of any traffic violation during the rental period, you must cancel the ticket in any state bank (National Bank, Costa Rica Bank, Popular Bank) also can make payment at any of our offices presenting the ballot of the ticket, otherwise it will impose an exit restriction and you cannot leave the country because the Immigration Department will check your status strictly.

No, Budget doesn’t accepts Credit Cards Without raised Numbers, the client should show the document..

Budget accepts credit: American Express, Mastercard, Visa, Diners Club and Discover Card.

If you show up one hour late for the time of your booking, availability will be subject to the availability for high season.

Only if your booking is prepaid, we will keep your reserved vehicle for 5 hours.

There is a penalty of $100 on top of the rental amount, if you keep or extend your rental vehicle more than the return agreement.

This fee $100 applies if the customers does not call to extend the rent 24 hours in advance. Start, December 15 until April 22.

For reservations for periods longer than 30 days “Applies a Special Rate”. This rate only applies for periods longer than 30 days. In case of early return before the date specified in the contract. The normal season rate will be applied.

Fuel price is not included in the Budget Car Rental rates. Budget Car Rental delivers the cars with a full tank of fuel. If for any reason, the customer cannot return the vehicle in the same condition, the company will charge the corresponding amount of fuel consumed plus an additional charge as a penalty.

 

For customer convenience, Budget Car Rental also offer the possibility to prepay the fuel tank and return the vehicle with an empty tank, so, the customer need not worry about stop in a service station. This option is cheaper than the market price. The fuel prepaid amount is included in the opening agreement and is not refundable.
