Imagine watching the sunrise on one side of the country and the sunset on the other. Well, that’s actually possible in Costa Rica.
Costa Rica’s geography allows it to travel from coast to coast in one day. Although we recommend staying a couple of days on each coast, it can be done.
Both the Pacific and Caribbean coasts are amazing but we can help you decide which one is better for YOU.
Pacific coast
The Pacific coast is home to some of the most visited and popular beaches in Costa Rica like Jaco, Manuel Antonio, and Santa Teresa. It is more developed in terms of infrastructure; you’ll find more upscale hotels, resorts, chain restaurants and more.
Weather-wise, this coast has a longer dry season with temperatures that can sore into the 100’s F during March and April.
If you’re interested in spectacular sunset views, the Pacific coast is for you.
Perfect for:
Families
Surfers
Luxury travelers
Wellness travelers
Caribbean coast
Known for its laid-back vibes, the Caribbean coast is home to lush, non-commercial and almost untouched beaches.
Here, the community and infrastructure prefers to blend with nature. Charming, colorful houses are the norm and ecotourism reigns supreme. Villages like Cahuita, Puerto Viejo and Tortuguero are the main attraction for both tourists and expats alike.
This side of the country has an entirely different feel than the Pacific. The cuisine, music and small-town feeling are something worth experiencing.
Temperatures stay in the 80’s but take in mind that the Caribbean is considerably more humid.
Perfect for:
Foodies

Wellness travelers
No matter which side of the country you choose, we are sure you are going to have an amazing time.
